Hidden behind a row of cars and somewhat older ladies, you’ll find this hotel that can easily be seen as a palace. You can see the theme of the hotel from the outside; art deco. The somewhat older painting work doesn’t influence this opinion, because it is a part of the whole picture, as well as the pub at the entrance is. This hotel originally started as a tavern for the guests of the pub, but bought more and more room to change into a luxury hotel.

The lobby with the ancient elevator gives a great impression. Why aren’t there more of those old hotels? But there could be given a bit of maintenance. Maybe it is because of the status of being a monument that those things take a bit longer. In the lobby are hanging pictures of famous persons as Madame Currie with a high-educated company.
public areas
The public areas are decorated with the art deco style. The high ceilings and broad corridors give you the feeling of being placed back a hundred years. The most beautiful thing of this all is the elevator. This elevator is one of the old ones, such as Otis has made them originally. Only the bellboy is missing. Through a labyrinth of corridors you will finally reach your destination.
rooms
Because this hotel is made out of several buildings that once had their own purpose each, no room is the same. They are worth the stay. The rooms at the front of the hotel have been maintained better then the rest, which can be seen at the furniture. There are rooms that have been called after famous persons, so you can feel as if you are sleeping in their beds. Those rooms are furnitured with bamboo chairs, which are not at all old fashioned.
halls
The big hall in the basement was once a swimming pool. During daytime breakfast is served here and in the evening there are parties. The corners with plants and the ceilings with painting are inviting for a stay here. A total amount of 175 people fit in this room, which can make a great party. There are a few smaller halls, for example the restaurant and the pub.
situation
In the middle of Brussels cultural centre and on one of the most beautiful locations. In the middle of a big and busy square, you can park your car and then disappear in the in the wealth of the hotel. The back of the hotel lies on a busy shopping street and around that street there are bars, cinemas, restaurants and other cultural places.
